November Assignments
  • 11/17/14: First two (2) pages of argumentation paper are due at 11:59 p.m. on Turnitin.com. I should see an interesting hook/introduction, a strong thesis statement, and a well organized format as discussed in class.
  • 11/11/14: Read "The Twentieth-Century University is Obsolete" in Seeing and Writing on pgs. 644-647. Continue research process.
  • 11/10/14: Read "MySpace is Not Responsible for Your Kids" in the McGraw-Hill reader: pgs. 141-143. Also, begin the research process for the argumentation paper. You should strive to find 1-2 research articles a day for the next week. You need 6 resources for your paper.
  • 11/6/14: Space & Place paper due on Turnitin.com at 11:59 p.m.
  • 11/5/14: Argumentation reading from McGraw-Hill Reader: pgs. 117-124.

October Assignments

  • 10/21/14: Class is finished with all required readings for unit 2. If you have not read a piece, read it now!
  • 10/20/14: Read "Imagining Homelands" (204) and "This Land is Their Land" (549). Socratic Seminar on Monday.
  • 10/22/14: First draft of "Space and Place" paper should be completed, and you should be ready to conference with Mr. Taylor.
  • 10/14/14: Read "No Place Like Home" by David Guterson (158).
  • 10/13/14: Read "Homeplace" by Scott Russell Sanders (172).
